Run your hand across your car after a wash. If the paint feels gritty rather than perfectly smooth, that's bonded contamination sitting on the surface, and no amount of washing will remove it.
A lubricated clay bar glides across the paint and physically lifts embedded particles like rail dust, industrial fallout, and overspray out of the clear coat, without the abrasive scrubbing that would otherwise be needed.
This add-on is the recommended prep step before ceramic coating or a fresh coat of our paint sealant wax, since both bond best to genuinely clean, decontaminated paint.
